FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Finally, compression that is easier to put on and more comfortable to wear!

Core-Spun support socks

KANSAS CITY, KS – June 1, 2009: Knit-Rite, Inc announces a patent-pending gradient compression support sock, Core-Spun by Therafirm™, to address patient compliance with compression therapy.

Many traditional gradient compression garments are difficult for people to put on, much less the patients concentrated in the older age groups that may suffer from other conditions that restrict movement such as limited degree of mobility or dexterity, obesity, arthritis, general stiffness or breathing problems. Comfort is also a concern when addressing compression therapy compliance with common complaints that they are too long, too short, too tight, fall down, rub or squash the toes, or feel ‘course’.

For individuals that compression therapy has been recommended, the struggle of putting their support hosiery on every day may interfere with complying. “One of the common complaints I hear from patients is that their compression garments are just too difficult to put on and too uncomfortable to wear for extended periods of time. These are individuals that despite the need for compression therapy, become so frustrated with getting it on they simply give up after trying a few times. It makes it difficult to treat a patient when they cannot comply with the recommended therapy. Unfortunately their condition may worsen by neglecting to wear the compression hosiery, said Dr. Richard C. Arnspiger II, M.D., F.A.C.S., Vein Institute of the Midwest”.

Therafirm’s patent pending innovation, Core-Spun by Therafirm™ Compression Socks, are made with the unique technology of core-spun yarns and Lycra® for a true gradient compression sock that is ultra stretchy, easier to put on, and more comfortable to wear. Core-Spun socks look and feel like comfortable everyday socks while delivering a controlled amount of pressure greatest at the ankle and gradually decreasing towards the top of the sock to promote better circulation and reduce leg fatigue.

Moisture wicking CoolMax® or X-STATIC® fibers create a superior wicking effect so moisture evaporates from the skin quickly, therefore providing a comfortable coolness. The comfort top is non-restrictive while staying in place. In addition to the easier donning and increased comfort features, Core-Spun by Therafirm® products are affordable, so patients are often able to purchase multiple pairs allowing for normal washing cycles. “Core-Spun by Therafirm Support Socks address so many of the compliance issues I see with patients. The patient can feel comfortable in their compression and physicians can feel more confident about compliance,” commented Dr. Richard C. Arnspiger II, M.D., F.A.C.S.

“We are proud to offer the consumer a full line of compression products that address so many of the compliance issues in compression therapy. Our THERAFIRM® products are medically correct gradient compression, cool, comfortable, fashionable and affordable. The Core-Spun line takes it even a step further and addresses the ease of putting on the product and the extra comfort for all-day wear”, said Ron Hercules, Vice President of Sales. “We are excited to fill a void in the compression hosiery offering and have heard over and over from consumers, ‘Finally compression I can wear’.

Core-Spun by Therafirm™ Support Socks are available in Light 10-15mmHg, Mild 15-20mmHg, Moderate 20-30mmHg and Firm 30-40mmHg support levels.
